Increase your life expectancy with 15 minutes of physical exercise

Do you have a physical exercise habit, at least for 15 minutes a day? If so, you may have a chance to have three years longer for your life expectancy. That habit could also decrease your risk of death down to 14 percent too. That’s the findings of a recent study performed by Montreal Heart Institute and the Universite de Montreal in Quebec.

The popular suggestion is that adults must perform their physical exercise at least a total of one and a half hours, but the study found 15 minutes are enough to provide benefits. The study tracked more than 400,000 people in Taiwan for a quite long period: eight years. Participants self-reported their amounts of weekly exercise. Five categories were used: inactive, low, medium, high, and very high. (more…)

A would-be universal antivirus, using double-stranded RNA

There are many reasons why dealing with viruses is a tricky thing. First of all, there are many different types of viruses. This makes a drug that is effective in battling a type of virus may not be so effective, or even totally fail, to other types of viruses.

The next thing to pay attention to is that viruses replicate using our cells’ own system. This could make the drugs, initially intended to combat the viruses, toxic to our bodies. Once replicate, the numbers a so huge and often producing a lot of many new forms. One of these new forms can be antiviral drug, thus having a selective advantage and then will multiply. I have measured out my life with healthy coffee spoon, and will keep it that way

I understand there are many people around us who will immediately doubt any notion about healthy coffee. They can’t help it though as they are bombarded by tons of negative campaigns against that magic beans. I hate it but I must repeat what those opponents said: that beans brings you nearer to the end of your life as it contains caffeine, which will trigger your heart to beat faster each time you sip your cup. In fact, that caffeine has been put in the same “killer” class as nicotine and other “negative” substances. I’d like to challenge such false notion.

I’m not a real expert in what goes under those beans’ hood but I have measured out my life with healthy coffee spoon, and I will keep it that way. I’ve drink it since I was a small boy and, contrary to those opponents’ allegation, I still live the minute I write this and my records at doctor’s drawer doesn’t show any indication that I have to be worry about my life in years to come. However, I, being a person with a big faith to relativity, will still nod to those opponents’ allegation. But with one correction: their allegation should not be assumed as a general, absolute equation. (more…)
